Scratch that swiping thing...
Well, unfortunately even though the review was going pretty well, and the swiping functioned properly, UX decided to redo their review and came to the conclusion that it doesn't really add anything to the browser, therefore the bug has become WONTFIXed.The gesture swiping on Mac will have this animation, but using it from the buttons is not going to happen... Yet. I have decided though, that after the gesture arrives in the Nightly, I will start creating an Add-On for Firefox that adds this animation for all of you who are interested in this.
It will take a little more time, since I have never written an extension before, but eventually it should be available.
Oh well. Time to move on to another bug for now!
Sorry that the resolution was such an about-face :/ It's sucky when that happens, especially for enthusiastic volunteers such as yourself. Glad you see it as a learning opportunity, though! You're a great asset to our OS X platform integration team :)
ReplyDeleteHey thanks. I am glad I was able to learn so much from it. So the experience was not in vain. And I got to find a hack that could help with the new tab style. So that's a plus!
